The Dayton Agreement at 30: Legal Reflections, Politics of Fragmentation and the Future of Peacebuilding Conference Guide

The International Conference on International Law: “The Dayton Agreement at 30: Legal Reflections, Politics of Fragmentation and the Future of Peacebuilding” will take place on 27–28 November 2025 at Istanbul University, Doctorate Hall.

We are honored to announce that Prof. Dr. Numan Kurtulmuş, Speaker of Grand National Assembly of Türkiye, will deliver the conference’s keynote address.

The event is organised by the Balkan Studies Foundation (BSF) and Worldwide Lawyers Association (WOLAS), and supporters as Istanbul University, the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA), the International University of Sarajevo, and the University of Sarajevo Institute of History. Nineteen distinguished participants, from Bosnia and Herzegovina, North Macedonia, Türkiye, Croatia, Austria and Kosovo, will contribute to the conference.

Marking the 30th anniversary of the signing of the Dayton Agreement, the conference will engage with the Agreement’s enduring legal, political and social implications, and will critically assess the evolving challenges and opportunities for peacebuilding in the Balkans and beyond.
