What is Skopje Academy?

Skopje Academy aims to give and develop a meaningful perspective on World Civilizations, the Balkans, Cities, Peoples and Man as an Individual. Skopje Academy consists of 3 modules which are completed during one academic year.

• The first module, “Seminars”, is conducted over two semesters. This module consists of a total of 10 seminars, with 5 seminars in each semester. (5+5)
• The second module includes “Reading” with two reading groups, where the participants will have to participate in the reading groups under the mentorship of a professor, from the articles sent in advance by the lecturers will be discussed and debated.
• The third module, “Writing”, involves the process of working on an article under the mentorship of a professor from Skopje Academy.

  To pass all these stages, students must attend all lectures in the first level, participate in reading groups in the second level, and finally complete the article writing. Students who successfully complete all levels will be awarded a certificate.

Aims of Skopje Academy

The Skopje Academy is dedicated to cultivating a global perspective in its students by emphasizing the interconnectedness of global regions, with a special focus on the Balkans. This is achieved through courses and seminars that explore global issues, cultural studies, and regional dynamics, fostering an appreciation for diversity and global interdependence. Additionally, the Academy promotes interdisciplinary learning by integrating social sciences with other fields, offering programs that combine history, sociology, political science, and economics to provide a comprehensive understanding of social phenomena.   To enhance the educational experience, the Academy offers specialized programs such as Summer and Winter Schools and the Civilization School. These intensive, short-term educational programs focus on specific themes or subjects, providing immersive learning opportunities.   Furthermore, the Skopje Academy facilitates social and intellectual networking by creating opportunities for students to connect with peers, academics, and professionals through networking events, conferences, and symposiums. Additionally, practical experience and professional development are offered through internships within the Foundation, allowing students to participate in various projects and commitments, preparing them for their future careers.
